Author Guidelines
Indian Journal of Health Studies (JHS) is a peer-reviewed research journal published by Indian Association of Health Psychologists. The journal accepts submission of manuscripts from the disciplines of Psychology, Medical Anthropology, Medical Sociology, Health Policies, Ayurveda, Unani, Medical Sciences, Nursing Sciences and Public Health. The journal accepts Original articles, Empirical Studies, Review Article and Case Studies.
- The Font: The articles must be written in MS Word, Times New Roman number 12 font
- Clarity: Articles must have clarity on design of the study, acquisition, analysis and interpretation of data.
- Author’s declaration: The author’s must declare that the submitted paper has not been published previously and it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere
- Author’s Approval: The publication must be approved by all authors. The authors need to declare that, if accepted, the article will not be published elsewhere including electronically in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the copyright-holder.
- Format of the manuscript: Submission to this journal is online. Manuscripts should be submitted following the format outlined in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition)
- All correspondence related to the publication takes place through e-mail.
Organization of the Manuscript
The Title Page
The title page should include:
- The name(s) of the author(s)
- The affiliation(s) and address (es) of the author(s)
- The e-mail address, and telephone number(s) of the corresponding author
Word Limit
- Papers should be no more than 8000 words (excluding the abstract, reference list, tables and figures).
Abstract
The abstract should be within 250 words. It should specify objectives, design, method, results, and conclusions. Four to six key words should be given at the end of the abstract.
Main document
- The main document should have the clear side headings and sub headings where required.
- The authors must clearly indicate the placements of tables and figures in the main text.
- Tables & Figures: There should be no colours except black and white. Tables should be typed in double spacing, each on a separate page with a self-explanatory title.
- Tables should be comprehensible without reference to the text. They should be placed at the end of the manuscript but they must be mentioned in the text
- Figures/charts should be included in the main text.
- References should follow APA style
Review of the articles
Every article cleared by the editor will go for a blind review.
